Mae Engelgeer

Mae Engelgeer is a Dutch textile and surface designer known for her contemporary woven works combining color, transparency, and geometric rhythm. Now based in Tokyo, she graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2011 and founded her studio soon after. Her practice explores the intersection of craft and industrial production, often collaborating with international brands and manufacturers.

Her work is recognized for subtle gradients, layered textures, and refined material experimentation across textiles, carpets, and interior applications. Engelgeer’s work has been exhibited in galleries and design fairs across Europe and Asia, contributing to a growing global presence in contemporary textile design. She continues to develop bespoke commissions and collectible design pieces that emphasize tactility and visual depth.
