Circle in Motion

The minimalistic artwork Circle in Motion is an exploration of perception, and spatial illusion. As the viewer’s perspective shifts, the circular form undergoes a transformation, with colours slowly changing both horizontally and vertically across its surface and in the background. A precisely positioned rectangular element acts as a visual bridge, connecting and grounding the perceived depth that emerges within the composition.

Launched by Transnatural during Milan Design Week 2026 as part of the Sphere in Motion series, Circle in Motion exemplifies the studio’s ongoing investigation into movement, optical perception, and the relationship between two- and three-dimensional space.

The work is created by A+N Studio, the collaborative practice of Alissa van Asseldonk and Nienke Bongers. Their work is distinguished by a sophisticated interplay of art, design, and visual experimentation, creating pieces that engage viewers through both aesthetic refinement and perceptual discovery.
