Natasja Alers
The artist has a fascination with the human body and nature. Using, for example, casts of body parts, she often reconstructs new forms. These reconstructed elements form the foundation of her sculptural compositions. With a wide palette of glazes and color combinations, Alers creates abstract, painterly, and expressive surfaces with smudges and drips. These elements define the unique aesthetic of her organically contoured pieces.
While most of her work is hand-shaped from ceramic using traditional craftsmanship, she occasionally experiments with alternative techniques to align with her artistic vision.
Natasja currently resides in Nieuw-West, with her studio based in Amsterdam-Noord.

In her Body Works series, artist Natasja Alers reimagines fragments of the human form, transforming them into bold sculptural pieces crafted from recycled clay. The project explores the intersection of art and design, pushing anatomical references into vibrant, voluminous forms.
Each object is hand-sculpted and glazed in soft, playful hues—green, yellow, and pink—adding a dynamic visual language to the tactile nature of clay. While sculptural in nature, the series includes functional pieces such as saloon tables and stools, blurring the lines between utility and artistic expression.
Every piece in the collection is a one-of-a-kind, handmade creation, offering collectors both aesthetic and functional value.
